This Board was the second of a series that were laser carved at the Lorain Country Community College Fab Lab. The visual text and lines were painted black to improve contrast following the laser process. The Cali board was framed by Steve Kolesar and Michael Fricke. The frame is cherry held together with walnut side splines. The cherry wood was selected because of the red color which is evocative of California Redwood. The Braille for this board was added by volunteers at the ACS 2025 Western Regional Meeting in San Jose. This board is the first to be publicly displayed at the Stanford University Sapp Learning Center.
